18 years after opening their first restaurant in Japan, Michel and Sébastien Bras, along with Simone Cantafio, will open a new restaurant in Karuizawa, on June 2020.
Located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, just 1h30 away in the North West of Tokyo, Karuizawa is a favorite resort for city dwellers seeking cool summer, gorgeous fall, and soothing hot springs all year round. Famous Japanese architect Kuma Kengo designed the restaurant as a unique open space around a garden. This garden will be the heart and the main resource for the local culinary repertoire to be magnified through an authentic Bras cuisine. Chef Simone Cantafio who trained at Le Suquet restaurant in Laguiole, and is the current chef of the first Bras restaurant opened in Japan in 2002 in Toya, on Hokkaido Island. will be in charge of this new restaurant.
